The americans have every right to take matters into their own hands, for years we have given safe haven to convicted/suspected terrorists and hate preachers.
Now we are exporting our own born and bred terrorists around the world many of which have returned here after their crimes.

I'm sorry Brian, I disagree most strongly. We need all the help we can get to put a stop to this nonsense.
How do you propose it is stopped ?

We live in a different world now with our ports and airports acting like revolving doors for terrorists and criminal gangs.
Border agency staff numbers are down, the security services admit that they cannot keep on top of things any longer and a government that admits few checks are made and that they have very little idea of numbers going in or out.
The FBI have more information on who the bad chaps/chappesses are.

So long as they do not run around firing guns like they do on TV I have no objection but it is a sad state of affairs that the USA feel we will miss something.

Brian, I agree. We don't need the yanks 'helping' us any more. Its such a pity the the hypocrites didn't do a bit more to stop the ira, or maybe they should have done a lot less to support them. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, this country just rolls over and does as its told. The yanks have (probably) the worst record on the planet for supporting terrorists (they would call them 'freedom fighters'), until there is an incident in their own country, then its 'reds under the beds' all over again.

I agree about the IRA funding from the states Barrie, it was only when they had the Oklahoma bombing that they realised what terrorism really meant, but we are in a desperate situation now and need the experience and knowledge built up by the FBI to catch the terrorists that we allow to freely roam.

Its not just the ira funding, its all that stuff they did in central america, funding 'freedom fighters' wherever they perceived a threat to the u.s. The reason we are in the cart now, is because we have sided with the americans. This country's government should realise that we are geographically in europe (leaving the eu out of it), and that if we stuck together and minded our own business, some of these extremists might not have such a problem with us. I know that's a huge over simplification, but I think the point is valid.
