True democracy would entitle all parties a free vote rather than being whipped into submission.
If the latest deal is turned down the last vestige of respect I have for those MPs sitting in their comfortable well paid seats will vanish completely.

Johnson's deal will be a wrecking ball through the lives & well-being of ordinary people across Britain. Labour MPs cannot and must not vote for it. If they do, the NEC will have no choice but to replace them with a new, socialist Labour candidate at the next election
i.e.Vote for Brexit and Marxists will replace you!
Lansman is is a member of Labour Party's National Executive.

Here's a novel idea: let the UK parliament vote on the workers' rights and wot-not that we should have. Mm, mm, I think it's called democracy.

At the risk of having a caber thrown by a true Scotsman land on my head, I'd venture to say that if we had a 'true democracy' we wouldn't have a parliament, at least not the kind we have now, and that would be fine by me.

Absolutely can't call this. My instinct says that it'll squeeze through with lots of "look, it's far from perfect but we have to get this done" type comments.

This morning I spoke to John Baron who is an ERG member, and with Stephen Hammond who is one of those unfrocked by Boris after the vote a while ago. Both told me that they would vote for the deal with some reluctance (for different reasons). I also spoke to Jim Fitzpatrick who is a Labour MP and he told me that he will also vote for it. They all said that most, if not all, of their respective factions within their parties would also vote for it. Reading between the lines I got the impression that there will be more Labour rebels. Jim said that, like him, many of his colleagues in the PLP are uncomfortable with a leadership who will not get off the fence and with a Politburo who are on the hunt for any MPs who are not ‘on message’ with the new Labour reality. They know who they are so they have nothing to lose by voting with their conscience and defying the whip.
So my prediction is that the deal will narrowly pass, avoiding the mess of a no-deal Brexit.

We can but hope, if it fails goodness knows what the future will bring with regard to the Brexit situation.

with luck and loads of rejection by parliament, they would/should revoke article 50 all together and regroup.

For me, the fun now is watching Farage go ballistic! I guess that there will be no need for him once we leave, just about the only good thing that'll come of it!

With impeccable timing, the OED has been updated:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-50052420. Additions are said to include simples, omnishambles and whatev (which is defined as indicating that Mr Bercow, unusually in my opinion, is disinclined to engage with the matter).

Having watched the boring waffle from Westminster by Labour and that biased I hate England Scot, the debate seems to boil down to the following very long winded result.
It is a Tory/Boris plot so we will not agree to it.
A pox to the lot of them.

Went to make a cup of tea, back to watching Parliament on TV and that dreadful little porridge-wog in the cheap blue suit is ranting about another independence referendum AGAIN.

and the answer is BORIS lost the commons vote.
a number of options that are open,
1/ he breaks benns law and leaves on a no deal retric.
2/ writes a begging letter to the EU for an extension.
3/ puts a vote to the people.
a genrael election. referendum or both.

Gets his deal approved
We get on with the real job of sorting out our future trading relationship with Europe.
