    Well, the trouble with that analogy is that you already know that no house is ever perfect (and this one's centuries old), but it's in such a glorious location, and that subsidence is only a bit of heave, and the damp's just condensation, and as for that boundary dispute, well it's just a bit of rough land the foxes use for a path. So you go ahead anyway, because if you don't you know your fussy husband will want a separate damp survey, and then perhaps an electrical survey, and then perhaps that little bit of falling render might justify a re-negotiation of the asking price, and there's that repointing under the bay window...
