This time round, Keith B, it's unlikely the Government is bothered in Albania joining the EU.
They're getting tough on illegal immigrants, informing them to go home or face arrest and deportation.
The Government is getting tough, we need to be tough, we need to get our Country in order, and as our economic situation gets worse and the General Election draws closer, the Government will clamp down even more.
We need to clamp down, the illegal immigrants need to know that their stay here is over.

All that money immigration have spent sending those who claimed asylum back after the war ended. What a waste. Still...would human rights be breached if we excluded them as we're opening our arms to the rest of Europe bit by bit? I'm all for a multi cultural society but the UK is a small Island...how many more people can we really sustain?

I wonder though (I don't know of this ever happened there in Kosovo) if conscription ever came about in the UK, how many of our lads would 'do a runner'. Fighting for your country is one thing but some are just scared, others perhaps got other plans.
I met an Israeli lad once who was my age. They have conscription still there. He told me how lucky I was growing up
In the UK. Now he was high up in his security job because of his past but told me he would have rather had a choice.

British young men trying to get in to the British army has never been higher Helen
Despite being at war, it doesn't seem to put them of ,
History tells us British men are prepared to defend Britten and others is well proven .
Should we have been sheltering young men refusing to fight for there own land ?
PS .
would we see large numbers of labours newcomers rushing to defend Britton??
Or would they be rushing back to there old homelands

You won't know this but I have two nationalities. I consider myself to be British and would defend Briton. I was onced asked at the passport desk of my other nationality "what if there was a war, who would you pledge your allegiance to?" (You can now guess the other country). I was shocked to be asked such a question! To prevent being turfed out I just came out with "I don't know". But I was livid with the man.
Despite having lived in two other countries other than Britain I will always consider it my home. It is where you feel your heart lies not where you work. You have to try and see it from their point of view too Keith.

KeithB, Kosovo was inhabited by Serbs too.
The Albanians became the majority in Kosovo since the 19th century owing to a higher birthrate.
One could argue the Serbian People could have divided Kosovo, however the people in Kosovo fighting the Serbs were terrorists who murdered people and eventually chased many Serbs from their home and land after the NATO attack on Serbia.
Something the Serbs hadn't dome to the Albanians.
