" part of the collective hysteria that's overtaken media, government, science and (most of) the rest of us and plunged us into this madness."
I absolutely agree, plus possible exaggeration of the facts being the worst. They have all promoted the worst possible scenario to scare us into doing what we are told which has to an extent worked, but there are still selfish idiots who still carry on as normal.

There's some c**t in my street who has decided that what we need is for the entire road and a few surrounding ones to have to listen to his attempts at karaoke. He's appalling, but has a few fans cheering him on.
Egotistical noisy gits. No doubt desperate for facebook likes.

An hour he's been going on for. Not singing really. The type of "singer" who thinks good singing is about bellowing as loud as possible and shouting "c'mon" a lot.
The Queen's on the telly tight now (no doubt telling everyone to
stay indoors). Possibly thinks he's more important than The Queen. He's finishing with Stereophonics "Take A Look At Me Now", now apparently (hopefully). That says a lot about the ego involved methinks.
He also sang Night Fever, which I think is in very poor taste right now.
Please don't "...give me that night fever, night fever", right now please.
Some obvious self isolation violations happening as well.
Sorry. I always tend to get a bit Simon Cowell at karaoke do's (especially unrequested ones). If they were playing an instrument as well I may have been impressed. Lots of the Shout & Holler/Whistle As Loud As I Can at the end of every song look at me types in attendance as well. Ffs don't encourage him.
Can I get back to concentrating on watching telly and playing poker now please?

The BBQ on our street finished with the requisite argument and everyone telling each other they are c**ts or slags, felt like everything was back to normal in the world again!

I love that the story says he was seen on the parents lawn! Thus corroborating his story of not going in!

Jenrick, another one who thinks the needless travel or meeting up with family and friends does not apply to him.
"On Thursday night it emerged that the minister had also travelled between London and his home in Herefordshire, which is not in his constituency of Newark in Nottinghamshire."
With a London home no valid reason to visit his family home in Hertfordshire either.

He wasn't visiting it Jan he went home to stay at home, for some reason the Guardian missed that bit out of its story.
Then again in an opinion piece they are defending the Chinese over the corona virus today as well.

In that case I guess we will not see him in London (which is where he should have stayed) until the lockdown is over like those who actually obey the rules.
I never read the Guardian so would not know I only found that article because they apparently broke the story.

Personally I don't see it as a problem he was living in London on his own before parliament closed and now he has decamped back to his family. When parliament reopens he'll move back to London, he could commute everyday but he chose to isolate from his family for his job

'Only' 19 NHS deaths apparently?
Back of envelope.
1.3 million employees = c2% of UK population.
8958 UK deaths therefore c180 NHS employee deaths so far if have same distribution as UK population?

Meanwhile 2/3 deaths obese/overweight. (Counts as ''underlying health condition')
Hardly surprising since most of them got breathless just going upstairs?
Council vacancies coming up?

I don't understand the PPE figures.
Nobody seems to argue that over 700 million pieces of PPE have been distributed throughout the NHS in the past few weeks. They just say it's not enough.
There are 1.5 million employees in the NHS, so that's over 460 pieces of PPE per person?

I wonder how many of those PPE "pieces" are just sitting in the emergency city hospitals or those under-used like Nightingale, while the many non metropolis hospitals like WHH and QEQM are struggling.

Gloves probably make up a large amount of the 700 million pieces of PPE with 100, or more, per box so perhaps the shortage is in other essential items.

This is pure government spin, turning disorganisation and shortage into overuse by frontline workers.
Hancock: 'There's enough PPE to go around, but
only if it's used in line with our guidance... what I am reiterating, stressing, is the importance to use
the right amount of PPE.' [My italics.] In other words: 'you're using too much.'
I particularly like Patel's weaselling non-apology: 'I'm sorry if people feel that there have been failings.' In other words: 'it's your fault.'
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52252470
Hospital PPEs don't improve with age and look great with a bit of gunk on. They're single-use items, disposed of after every task.
