I must say, it is a laugh, and kind of reassuring, to see the Tory self-immolating pantomime continue beyond Brexit tangles into 'lockdown' tangles. But it is a bit of a sideshow to the main event, which is that a political class no wiser than schoolboys abolished our liberties and trashed our economy because of a virus. The media, as a bunch, failed to oppose this 'lockdown' from the start, but rather hysterically demanded it, then propagandised for it, then simply chipped away at some of its minor elements. They are now missing the point: one man's journey from London to Durham is a non-event in a free country, and this fuss shows just how unfree we now are. Cummings should be in the stocks with the rest of the miscreants, so we can throw rotting fruit at the lot of them until they admit their huge mistake, reverse it, and pick up the bill.
