    Howard - when you provide charts you should make sure there is some solid basis for them. The terrorist loving Guardian is also not exactly a substantial source and the quoted sources for some of those figures are very dubious indeed.

    I note how the big circle includes 'avoided' which is quite legal alongside 'uncollected' which is just inefficient and evasion which is illegal. Anybody can create something like this depending on what basis they use for the figures.

    I do hope that you and everyone else reading this is avoiding paying any tax that is not legally due to be paid. I certainly avoid as much as I can. All perfectly legal and, indeed, it is a moral duty to my family to protect as much of my income and assets from the greedy grasp of the taxman I can using legal means to do so.
