Yes legendary player here in Town over many years Mike Webb celebrated his final day at the Town Council yesterday when the guys there had a bit of a staff party for him..cake and all. In fact they emailed me earlier in the week asking if they could use our picture of Mike in wig, as seen in our Whos Who section, to adorn the top of said cake. We said yes of course.
Not the same picture as mentioned above...but another variation..
Mike has graced the dizzy heights of the Town Council with his presence as a conscientious Town Clerk. Prior to that he was surely Dover's most successful Town Centre Manager for many years. He made things happen for sure as a certain buzz was created when new businesses opened and so on.
So there we are. end of an era. More on Mike in our Who's Who section..

Perhaps now that the shackles of office have fallen away he could lend his enterprising nous to this new beginning of the town?
I wish him well in whatever field holds his future.
[I have noted him as one of the more character-full 'boat-races' on the who's who page]
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

While I agree with what Tom says I have to say that since I have known him (and it's a bloody long time!) Mike has always had the future of the town at heart. I was going to say a lot more, in fact I did compose a lot but it was beginning to sound like an obituary!
What ever you decide to do Mike I know that you will do it well. Good luck mate.

I wish Mike all the best in his retirement, he has tirelessly worked for benefit of Dover over the years both as Town Clerk and previously as Town Centre Manager, he has done a great job wearing both hats.
All the best for the future Mike

Both the staff at the Council offices and the Councillors hosted parties for Mike as he retired - both of them a well-kept secret and surprise. They were both super occasions, and my brother was very much affected and moved by it all. He now has balloons hanging up outside his house ...
They did a grand send-off, and we're still buzzing from it all - so Mike, for whom it was all arranged, is very happy indeed and very appreciative too. He's on a high with all the good wishes..
He and Carole have some plans, and he has his fingers in a couple of pies so I suspect that Dover won't have seen the last of him and hsi many skills!
Thank you on Michael's behalf for all the kind wishes and comments. He's currently using Carole's computer and email, until he gets set up himself at home. I'll ensure he knows you're all writing here. He will be so pleased.

All the best Mike. Retirement is great and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, only I suspect that you will have plenty of plans. (NB we used to go to the same youth club, when I was young and thin - was formerly Smith).

I have had my differences with Mike over the years,I resigned at Deputy Mayor because they gave him the job as I felt it was a legal job and he didnt have the knowledge. We have put our differences to bed now and I would like to congratulate Mike and all his efforts. This Town will miss all he did and I would like to think we now have a mutual respect for each other.
Happy retirement Mike!
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!
I have meet this lady and she is very nice what do they say about a new broom, and I wish he well, and Chris Precious i hope you have a bullet prove vest she will get you for the wig stunt.

I wish Mr Webb well in his retirement and can only hope that the wearing of a very silly wig and gown go with him. Dressing up in this day and age belittles the very important position of Town Clerk.
