Jan - taken in by their con-trick. Not unusual.
As I said they are politically dependent on keeping the poor, poor. It is electorally essential for them to have a society that depends on the State.
Why else that in spite of their rhetoric every time they have been kicked out of office it has been with more people unemployed than when they entered office? That is a fact of history. Are they merely incompetent? That is certainly part of it.
One thing is for sure, they have no electoral advantage if people were more prosperous, self-reliant and standing on their own two feet.

Roger I was referring to the comments on compassion which infers that only the left have it which is completely wrong. I'll now go back into my hole and leave the political boys to fight it out.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

LOL Jan - I too misunderstood what you were saying.
The left claim compassion but as I said it is a lie and all about making themselves feel good.

Don't go back into a hole Jan, your contributions are always worth a read. I thought you were meaning the opposite.

Why do we need inference when we are born with ethics?
Infact why do we even need debate?

Perhaps because of the words used, accusations made and sanctimonious attitude we see from the left DT1.

I get a strong sense of "The Siege Mentality", about much of the attitude of the Right. Not so much, as things stand at present, of the throwing out over the walls of rich-foodstuffs into the face of the horde outwith the walls, but the driving at speed of heavily laden trucks through desperate communities, with an invitation to follow and enjoy writ large upon the sides.
So what if you cannot match the speed of the truck, or are choked by the dust thrown-up by it's wheels, the promise emblazoned on the tail gate is genuine.
Starve today, while there is yet food aplenty for the few, and who knows but there shall be enough for all...just around the corner.
All the world has to do is to pledge that those that have shall see their worth increase and the share-out can begin.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Many posters have highlighted from personal circumstances how they struggle with this conservative led govt moves to attack those least able to help themselves.
Barryw and his groupie will always blame the left rather than an answer
although now agan the groupie purely because family members have suffered changes opinions.

You are a silly person Keith.
Any old drivel spouted by Reg, you seem to hold so dearly, even his insulting terms you pick up; don't you have a mind (or vocabulary) of your own ?
Your last sentence is a nonsense (I was going to put another word).

Keith, if we are talking of world unemployment, there are both left-wing and right-wing governments in countries where unemployment poses a problem.
Greece's Socialist Pasok party passed in a few years from about 50% of the vote to 13% in 2012, and now struggles with only 6.5% popular support (among those who'd still vote).
As for Britain's Labour, 13 years in government made them the most incompetent government in British history.
The solution to unemployment does not depend on whether a government is left-wing, but whether there is the will to help people find work for an acceptable salary.
It's essential that Local Government be given the powers to help the local people in their administrative area to FIND WORK.
Nothing really to do with politics at all.
But a Local Government must put the interests of its own people first, for whom it has been elected.

Howard - I am merely expressing my disdain, disgust and contempt for the left who time after time damage those they pretend to want to help. Stupidity, incompetence or insincerity - a bit of each I suspect.
