    Yes a great shame about the 300 jobs loss. I suspect some organisations will let staff go and hide it behind the recession. Its like an easier way to bury the bad news.

    Sorry to hear of that tale of woe there John. Great shame when anyone has to re-apply for their own job. Very similar to what has just happened with Dover Harbour Board. The strike was lost there and the staff are now being outsourced as we speak.

    But the railways are in an odd situation, fares going up and staff being laid off, and who in Dover will be able to afford the new High Speed Train fares when it gets here.
