For once the will of the country has prevailed.
Yes that would be a very good idea Howard and a much more sensible way to spend the money that would have been wasted in Syria.

An incredibly poor decision from Parliament, and one which may come back to haunt us. What I don't understand is what we hope will happen now. We know the U.N. will not act, (as Russia will protect it's strategic interests non Syria), so do we hope that the U.S. acts alone? Or do we simply let the use of chemical weapons go unchecked? What will stop the further use of these weapons in future?

Charlie Elphicke voted FOR military intervention.
I'd be interested if that is what he believes in or if there's a job coming up.

That answers my question then Howard. Principles go out of the window if you've got your eye on a job.

Charlie Elphicke is very much a Cameron man ,

But His tax campaign is to be commend ,not all bad.

Two Government Ministers missed voting for Dave's resolution, they didn't hear the bell*, and one Con and one Lib-Dem voted both ways.
*
"International development secretary Justine Greening and Foreign Office minister Mark Simmonds failed to vote in the government motion to back military action in Syria.
It is understood Greening and Simmonds were in a room near the Commons chamber discussing a different foreign policy matter..."
Is Uganda still an issue?

Much of the voting? Understatement Howard, its the whip system that is undermining democracy, I admire the so called rebels who vote what they think not what they're told to vote.
Its no secret Charlie has his eye on promotion, he'd wear his underpants on his head if Cameron told him to.

That's where 'Uganda' comes in David.

"didn't hear the bell", very politically astute of them or maybe they were indulging in ugandan discussions tom.

So, there would appear to be 30 Tories who have some balls and listen to their constituents...

I saw that Paul, but I am still left with a small desire to know who couldn't be bothered to turn up at all, from New Labour or any other party.
