The National Trust at the White Cliffs have joined forces with Dover Transport Museum and are hosting a Classic Car Rally this Sunday (23rd Sept 2012).
It runs from 10am until 4pm with a bus service running from the museum to Langdon Cliffs. Fingers crossed the weather holds out as Sundays forecast is not looking good.

Appologies Howard, I've been trying to follow your instruction but still not working, usually its as simple as highlight, copy and paste.

takes a bit of getting used to ian, took me ages to get the hang of it.
does the bus go direct from the museum to the langdon cliffs?
the reason i ask is a lot of events like this pick up in market square enroute.

all a bit vague ian, good website but the event is not well done.
doesn't give any times for the bus going or coming back, let's hope that the weather forecast is wrong as this is the sort of event we need in dover.

Actually Howard if you go to the National Trust website it mentions the bus operating from 11am to 3pm.

Thanks Howard, I assume the bus will run continuously between the two location throughout the day :o)

I was looking for the entrance cost and eventually found that it is free, just normal entrance costs apply.

All information on times and entry fee are available via the two links above.
I believe around 50 vehicles are scheduled to be present at the cliffs. Really hoping this predicted bad weather stays away for them :o)

Confirmation that the free bus is from the Transport Museum to the White Cliffs only, there are around 50 vehicles scheduled to be on display so weather permitting it should be a great day.

I went up to the Langdon Cliffs at about 13.45, to have a look at the cars and they had all gone. The man on the gate said the weather was so bad and no one went, they all decided to go home -what a shame for them.

It is a real shame, initially there was a good turn out of cars and visitors and then unfortunately this horrendous weather set in and completely ruined the day for all concerned. Still hopefully they won't be put off from holding another joint venture on the fabulous White Cliffs. As usual the weather dictated play again. Nevermind.

So although the weather took hold on todays events at the Vintage Car Rally 32 vehicles and 19 motorcycles braved the weather for a good 4 hours before admitting defeat to Mother Nature.
Considering there was no shelter from the wind and rain so to speak I think all those involved in the organising and exhibiting deserve recognition for their efforts and perseverance. It is understood that this event willl be repeated next year in hopefully better weather, date to be confirmed.

let's hope so, good to hear that they stayed until it became impossible to carry on.
