    BARHAM TO ADISHAM WOODS
    Following the footpath to Out Elmstead, then crossing road via footbridge towards Ileden
    and Adisham Woods. Please wear suitable footwear and bring water to drink. Children over
    7 welcome. Suggested donation of £1 (to WCCP) appreciated. LEADER: Julia, Collyer's
    Companions (01304 241806). MEET: By Barham church (green spire), off The Street,
    Barham, near Canterbury (TR 209 500). DISTANCE: 4.5 miles (2.5 hours). GRADE: 3

    ECHOES FROM THE SKY - OPEN DAY 2013
    At the back of Lade Pit are the three Listening Devices built in the 1920s and 30s as part
    of a national early warning system against enemy aircraft. This is one of only two sites in
    the world where you can see all three designs. Come and hear the fascinating story behind
    them. An opportunity for residents and visitors to visit the site under your own steam. The
    RMCP will be present all day to talk you through them and help with any inquires and we ask
    for a donation per person to cover our costs for the day. You will need to park at Lade car
    park and follow the signs to make your own way to the Mirrors, where staff will be positioned
    at the bridge and on the island. Last entry 4.30pm. LEADER: Owen Leyshon. Romney

    parking in Lade car park on Coast Drive (half way between the Pilot Pub and Romney
    Sands, TN29 9PE (TR 085 208) and follow signs to the island. DISTANCE: 3 miles (2.5

    SUMMER FLOWERS ON THE HEIGHTS
    A gentle walk round the Western Heights looking at the profusion of chalk grassland flowers.
    We may even see an orchid or two! Suggested donation of £2 appreciated. LEADER:

    park (overlooking Clarendon), North Military Road, Dover (TR 314 410). DISTANCE: 2.5
    miles (2 hours). GRADE: 3. Dogs on leads.
