This is an intriguing find. How on earth do you spot them?
I have cheated and looked on Google street view.
It is opposite Blakes, over the place that until recently was L&Y satellites cum middle eastern grub.
Pre war this was the Pharos Tea House.
What it was back in 1847 with the initials CB.WW.CB.SG is the next question.

I must admit that I've always been fascinated by those stones. I'll post a new one next. In the meantime I'll leave someone else to get Howard's latest.
I'll just say it is of course Folkestone.

regarding the Pharos Tea House picture:
IGGLESDEN & GRAVES, bakers, business was established in 1788, sold in 1936.
Mr Mike Igglesden, of Australia: his parents were the last Igglesdens to own the business.
They emigrated when the business was sold returning to Dover in 1944, opening another restaurant "The Pharos Tea House", and emigrated to Australia in 1950.
So the picture dates from the earliest, 1944, not pre-war.
