A nice chap from DDC's Environmental Health phoned this afternoon. He said that SITA denied that the bin was theirs, even though, his quote, "Their name is written all over it"!
If nothing happens next week they will pass it on the Kent Highways as an obstruction.
I think I'll contact SITA next week myself to see what they say.
I'll keep you posted.

Couldn't wait, sent this just now by email.
"You have left a wheelie bin in road at the bottom of Erith Street in Dover for several weeks now unemptied and uncollected.
To my mind this constitutes a hazard both in terms of what it contains and also from a road safety point of view. When are you going to deal with it please?
The local council have been in touch but your Faversham office firstly "couldn't find it" although you regularly emptied it
before the customer changed to Viridor and then secondly denied that it was yours although it has your name on it!

Well done Terry, I am amazed it is still there in one piece the drunks and vandals usually 'play' with them by now.

SITA just phoned wanting to know the bin's postcode!
I asked the chap if it would be dealt with and he said he would pass it on to the right department.

We should move it on a daily basis and photograph it in front of all Dover's tourist attractions. Send the photos to a national newspaper to get some publicity for the town.
