Why do folk keeptalking about Cine World, Frankie and Bennie, whoever they are, and the DTIZ? It seems to me that all of this only exist on paper, while the market, failing or not, exists now. We need to live in the here and now and not in some imaginary Dover of the far distant future, Folkestone rd is a problem now, failing shops and pubs closeing is happening now. Why do our coucillors seem to ignore the Doverof the present and are only concerned with an imaginary town that will, so they say, happen years in the future? We need to deal with the problems faceing the town today, and not hide behind the myth of some wonderful Dover that has been promised to us since VE Day in 1945. Do these people really believe that we can regenerate (Ihate that word!) the town with nothing more then promises from a fast food outlet? We can't even get rid of Burlington House or rebuild on the old crypt site!
