I noticed today while walking along the Prince of Wales Pier looking across that there was two big trucks, one which looked like a generating/lighting plant another that was well lit up and looked like maybe a mobile dressing room with steps on it,also a Sprinter van with a large fold out Satelite dish like BBC news/Meridian use.The two big trucks looked like you would find on a film set.Anyone know whats going on?They was also there yesterday.

This is all very odd, when it was there last time I went along and it was full of familiar faces, this time I don't know of anybody going or anybody that even knows of it. I applied but no reply.
Just as well as I'll be watching the mighty Tottenham Hotspur crush Inter.

Wouldn't call Orient a major club but then there isn't a football club of any note in that part of London. Maybe Dag & Red.

Watching Question Time just now and the only person I recognise, is Brian Hall of the Newsagenst in Folkestone Road.
I thought Ken Clarke talked nonsense on immigration. Bob Crowe spoke sense on immigration, but too left-wing on the economy; the Labour guy didn't have a clue. I liked the UKIP Lady.

It was a pleasure to see Brian, I have fond memories of buying freddo frogs for 10p from Halls as a child.

I think I saw PaulB later - he didn't get the opportunity to ask a question though.
A comment made last night (attributed to David Cameron) that concerned me though, was that UKIP is made up up racists, xenophobics and nut-cases; many (ex) Conservatives, Labourites and Lib-Dems are now supporters and voters for UKIP, then that would be insulting to many conservatives and may turm more voters to UKIP.
Surely it is the role of the leader of any political party to represent and put forward, the views of their members and supporters and take them with him/her ? If not, there is a great danger of losing their core support.

Roger I think you'll find Cameron described UKIP as racists and fruitcakes.
Both major parties are in a complete tailspin over immigration, words like that from Cameron simply alienate his core support as you point out. I argued with Tom the other day because he introduced racism into a debate when the topic was nothing to do with it.
Its been very easy for the left, as soon as they are losing an argument, to accuse the opposition of racism, but its all worn very thin. I agree with your sentiment entirely.

Ukip leader Nigel Farage accused of making threats in bid to win funding
Two of the Eurosceptic party's former MEPs claim they were put under pressure to break European Union rules
"Nikki Sinclaire, MEP for the West Midlands, told the Guardian the Ukip leader told her the party would not be able to gain access to extra funds meant for a new political grouping without her support...
...A second MEP claims she was asked by Farage to secure an assistant for his 2010 general election campaign using money from Brussels, in breach of strict EU regulations. Marta Andreasen, who also left Ukip - joining the Conservatives last month - says Farage told her women of childbearing age should not work because they are "a burden to their companies"...."

Just watched the event on iPlayer.
I recognised a few familiar faces in the audience but was fascinated by the way the EU & immigration dominated the programme & how UKIP were put "on the spot" by the audience.
I'm not a great Ken Clarke fan but I liked the Ken Clarke quote that "UKIP ask the questions but don't have the answers" which interestingly got great support from the audience.
Melanie Philllips very rational.
Bob Crowe always entertaining-in the Hugo Chavez school of redistribution.
Stephen Twigg was as ever Stephen Twigg- but a few stone more.
Diane James- Ukip - started on a roll but lost it on close questioning.

The young blonde Dovorian lady got too much of a hard time, from MP especially.
She mentioned that she found UKIP disgusting, this was seized upon and no quarter given. Yet if the young lady was disgusted she is entitled to regard that which disgusted her as disgusting, is she not?

Next to Brian Hall was Mo Moroney my ex footballer fireman and safety expert.I thought Bob Crow was the best speaker and Ken Clarke but I am not sure he is in the know Diane James as Paul said started ok but lost her way on immigration, the lady from the Mail was quite good too,Stephen Twigg was ok not my sort of politician, needs a bit of fire in his belly
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!
