 - perfect howard speaks again
- Sid Pollitt - I'm not sure what the BNP are planning now that they have two MEPs. They say they are against the EU and would scrap it but are they going to take up the seats? Is it just me or does anyone else think that if they do it will be totally unprincipled?

 - who cares about principles in politics?
they are trying to get a group of like minded politicos together there.
that way they get extra funding.

much like the blue crowd mixing with the polish extreme right.

Hou are correct, not sure same for blues on fundng, but just all parties will group into like minded people.

The BNP is frightening , and i hope the labour supporters return to the fold.
also those that don't vote, actually return to the ballot box, or we will see the rise of the BNP and nobody wants that do they?????

 - i would hardly call the bnp frightening, a few council seats spread around, will never go further than that.

same with the old national front, the major parties tried to scare the electorate into coming back to mainstream parties.

 - Well they do now have two MEPs as well howard. That said I do agree, they are not exactly the type of people we would want elected but frightening they are not. At least now with their MEPs we are better able to expose them for what they are through open debate. They will not have much impact in the EU and will disappear after the next Euros into the obscurity they deserve.

 - that will only happen when the major parties get theit act together and listen to the people, and also when people abuse and insult them, making them appear to be victims and martyrs.

yesterdays appalling behaviour added to their popularity.

 - Having been away for a bit I'm still catching up here. I've just read all of this thread and have to say that I'm with Ed and BarryW 100%. This country wants and needs a general election and sooner rather than later. I haven't heard one single person say differently, all say get Brown out and pull our great country back up by its bootlaces. Time to go Gordon
- There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".
- Sid Pollitt - It's good that this country is currently great init, I must say I'm worried that if the Tories get in they'll break Britain.

 - Sid - dont tell me you have been living in Out Monglolia without internet access for the last 12 months...... You might want to know that Labour have 'broken' Britain and, from the latest election results, the public are aware of that and want a Conservative Government back to repair it. This is always what happens towards the end of any period of Labour Government.
- Sid Pollitt - Yeah yeah Barry. Two words for you: what ever. We know, where there was harmony you're lot'd bring dogma. For your information I do have internet access but I'm afraid I do not receive the extremist anti Britain chain emails that some obviously do and believe. I see Chris Hoy was at the palace today, made me proud it did.

 - What anti-Britain extremist emails Sid, are you receiving such things? I dont know of any at all, is this Muslim fundamentalists up to no good perhaps.

Me, I get my information from several newspapers, in particular the on-line versions that I access via Politicshome.com. A much better information source. ITN and BBC are good too, they widely reported Labour's meltdown.

 - Make your mind up Barry, it was only a few postings ago that you referred to the BBC as the Brown Broadcasting Corporation, now you are sayig that they are a good source of information and widely reported Labour's meltdown, which is it to be?

 - You are correct, Dave1, they are biased towards the left but nevertheless remain a good information source. You may note that I also often read from that other organ of the left, The Guardian.
- It is important to read across the broadsheets: without the Telegraph and Grauniad, where would we be!?

 - hats off to the telegraph for suddenly becoming a campaigning newspaper.

the independent is the best for bringing us news from the lands where johnny foreigner lives, the times for its general reporting and standards of journalism.

let us not forget adscene either.
