What is a `U` Turn?
``We have listened to the Public``? or ``ill-conceived,impetuous policies``?
Ad memoir,
NHS,Forrestry,Defence.Waste,Education,School sports,Treasury,Housing benefit,Royal Navy,
University Fees,VAT.........................
inspirational? Capricious?
PS. No smelly bins with an East Kent Council.
Well Reg, a U-turn is just that. A complete turnaround back to where you came from. One might think it takes a brave man (or partty) to do that. Or one might have other opinions...

Welcome aboard Reg, I am still trying to figure out the meaning of your cryptic front page post a few weeks ago (about the Eythorne shop not having the Dover Express or something).

A U turn is what your Sat Nav tells you to do when you have gone the wrong way

Oh I see, well I don't really take an interest in parish politics, Eythorne parish council is little more than a mad hatter 's tea party in my opinion.

Government performs U-turn on plans to reform U-turns
The coalition government has revealed plans for radical changes to the way that it continually changes its mind.
Speaking at a Downing Street press conference, Prime Minister David Cameron revealed how all decisions that the government made would now be subject to review by a panel consisting of readers of The Sun newspaper.
Mr Cameron said that the government had concluded it would "not be right" to push ahead with decisions that didn't have the backing of taxi drivers and people that spend their entire lives in betting shops.
Reacting to criticism that the government's recent U-turn on the sentencing of criminals was a sign of an indecisive government, the prime minister said: "I make no apology for listening to the views of Sun readers,"
"We have listened to their concerns and are currently looking into the feasibility of castrating shoplifters."
The prime minister also revealed that the government's planned changes to teachers' pensions were also being reviewed by Sun readers.
"I think our decision to make teachers work longer, pay more and receive less has been completely vindicated by revelations that teachers work short hours and get really, really long holidays."
"As for people claiming disability allowance! Don't get me started." he tutted

just a quickie on the eythorne issue
it appears(never happened before)the express prior to the election the shop told locals the paper hadn't arrived, presumably so not to many people read the dire story on some members within the community.
strange for a local shop to involve itself in issues such as these

Marek.
Yet another `U`turn!!!
The problem deepens as the time between DC putting another rushed, ill conceived policy to the country and changing his mind is shortening.

I try to be fair to this cobbled together govt, that is becoming a real laughing stock,
the latest excuses for u turns will not wash, they cant go on, but will attempt to, i can see it crumbling around them, no wish list, cos labour aint ready for office either, so the country realy is in a mess.
on the express story, did realy seem strange that you could not get a copy of the express in eythorne, yet if you nipped into shepherdswell you could get the copy you wanted.
So obviously one shop has involved itself in local politics, which i would have thought would have done little for business.
more important the express lost many sales.
