  glad there is still a bus, the weather forecast is not that bad for the weekend where we are.
  
  plenty of showers but sunny intervals too, close to the entrance to the car park are some trees that give adequate protection when it rains.
  
  if anyone looking in has not been to one of these weekends i would urge them to go and discover an important part of their heritage.
  
  advertising of the event has been excellent and people come from all over the country to enjoy what we take for granted.
  
  get your cameras ready for the excellent re-enactments, you will not be disappointed.

  We're so sorry that we can't be there, as we'd have loved to. One year ... but in the meantime, thank you to Phil and Mandy for the superb evening tour of the Drop Redoubt. Western Heights are great!

  It was a great day! Looking forward to seeing a lot of forum members tomorrow, even if its raining, we shall be there taking the pennies even if its raining, we shall just be in a slightly less scary postion of inside the door!!

  i was there just afer 11 am things were just beginning to get going, the drop redoubt seemed to be doing brisk business, elsewhere many were in the process of setting up.

  Yes this will be the first time we will not be going.I am not ready yet for all the wallking but I hope it does well and the weather gets better for Sunday.

  just checked the forecast for tomorrow around here, early sun and then a mixture of cloud and sun, no showers predicted.
  
  could be a bumper turn out, free executive bus from market square on the hour every hour from 10 a.m.

  1400 people through the Drop Redoubt this weekend which was still very good considering the weather forecast, Dover Castle tunnels reopening and I think the M20 being closed may have put some people off

  White Cliffs Countryside Partnership
  Sittingbourne Scouts who assisted amazingly with the marshalling and carparking
  Reenactors from the First Footguards, 79th Cameron Highlanders, 45e Regiment d'Infanterie de Ligne
  The girls from Dover Town Carnival
  Dover Town Council for the grant for the free bus
  
  And our biggest thanks go out to Bayliss Executive Travel who, after reasons out of our control meant that at 7pm on Friday we had no free bus running, managed to get drivers available to provide the advertised service. It seemed well used (including by the Mayor) when I saw it a couple of times.

  Just catching up with forum after a weekend of ferrying daughters back from their Uni's Looks like all went very well up at Western Heights over the weekend. Love the photo at post 29, at first glance it looks like a painting. Well done Scotchie
