A river that runs through the heart of Dover it needs a lot of TLC and it's not getting anything.
Over fished, over weeded, overlooked by the people responsible for it.
WE and the river Dour deserve much much more.

Sometimes, in places, it looks like a floating tip and I had a problem with having a river walkway (funded by KCC and Sustrans) as it was directing people to walk along-side this floating tip, so they could see just how little those responsible for it, cared about it.
There are many places where it does look good though.
With all the millions of pounds that are going to be spent on redevelopment of Dover, you'd have thought that a river-warden (who could also look after the parks and gardens in Dover), would have been introduced. Money raised from fines imposed for illegal fishing - out of season and no licence etc. and people caught dumping in the river, would more than have paid for their salary.
