i had a conversation back in the late 90's with the head of technical services of a london borough who predicted the day would come very soon when people would have to prove they had off street parking.

I appreciate that Jan - I don't know all the streets in Dover and there are indeed many that do have the room for a car, so taking it off of the road, but there are also many roads in Dover that do not have the space for cars in the front garden; mind you, many don't have room for wheelie bins but they still have them.
