  It is so important not to forget. I had a friend who had been through the holocaust, had been forced to choose which of her children lived and died, a favour given to her because she was a nurse and could nurse the nazis. It is also important.as you say, to recognise that we are all capable of doing nothing, and of doing bad things, we don't need to be geographically placed for that.
