keith is right all we are getting now are papering over the cracks type of policies foisted on the cash strapped southern states.
there is no end to their suffering so eventually something has to give, namely the democratrically elected governments.

"One of the themes of British history is the manner in which our leaders become spellbound by their own weakness in the face of looming disaster. Rather than take positive steps to evade their fate, they drift with the tide.
Such hypnosis makes the disaster inevitable. It was the case for James II waiting for William of Orange to land, for Chamberlain at Berchtesgaden, and it's now the case for David Cameron."
The above is from another of this sophist's drivel-blogs.
The Telegraph is ever on the push to ensure, to hope against hope, that a Conservative Government is returned to power at the next election. Even if not with Dave in the van.

You are right about Tom Pascoe, Tom. He is a newbie and will hopefully learn a bit before he gets his P45.

My belief is that, during the Second World War, Britain's High Command was under the Protection of the Fair Lady, Whose Church on a Hill (Church-Hill) at the Castle stands next to the bunkers where the High Command had its headquarters.
I'm firmly convinced the Fair Lady will protect Britain and prevail through Prosperity.

And I think that enormous polyurethane squirrels are running the whole show, controlling our every waking movement with their songs and their dancing and their whispering and their fiscal rectitude.

Is there to be an age that is free from war?

another tragic case we need to be out of there, these incidents will recur because at the end of the day we are foreigners telling afghans how to run their own country.

A war might not be a bad thing, assuming we can choose who we send to the front. If its the long term unemployed, criminals and drug addicts it will rid us of the drains on society.

The mayor of Palermo (Sicily's administrative centre) stated the other day he fears Sicily may be soon gripped by a civil war - nothing to do with the Mafia.
It would be due to the island's economic situation, he explains.
