Then fire up the hounds, Howard, away we go!

Another solution is an economical car - I do Deal to Ashford every day on M20 and still get 60+mpg

Been nice knowing you :)

My BMW 320d gives me well over 50mpg; with cruise control on the motorway, driving around 70, it's even more.

Howard as long as we have Hamonds with his three sites and setting the price garages in and around Dover are going to Fallow so we will never have cheap petrol in this town.I shop every week at Morrisons and get my 6p a lite off voucher and go to Canterbury to fill up and it still works out cheaper. Hammond has many times been reported to BP for having high prices and been told to drop it by at lest 1p.in a conversation with a friend he admitted he is not bothered about local trade he only wants the trade going and coming from Europe.

Yes Alan. The fear of the unknown is something that any business can bank-on. Whichever the direction of traffic flow.
The point made earlier, "Previous page", about additives; I find odd. It may well be the case, but I am sure there are stories from various 'fuel-blockades' that no matter the Logo on the truck they all fill-up from the same hose at the depots.
BTW
Another handy hint I have received concerns the wearing of sunglasses while driving in conditions of heavy rain. This, it is said, is a good idea as it cuts down the glare and sparkle and helps visibility no end.

Don't be a silly ares they don't run on time they are over crowded they cost more than a car to go a small distance

So... So much for fuel. What about insurance...
How much care do you take in defining your occupation for insurance purposes...do you EVER volunteer?

There is a huge difference between rates for 'publican' and 'hotelier '. As we have b&b rooms I am therefore a hotelier. Chefs suffer a huge penalty too, probably because they are all presumed to have a few sherbets after evening service, then drive hone.

Yes I paid more because I worked at hights and welding.
3 garages in Dover....two either side of the docks....and one at the end of
Folkestone Road.....
All owned by Hammonds....always expensive petrol, no matter what the situation...
No competition whatsoever........
