St. Albans is not London I agree, but Enfield is and so is Barnet (London Borough of); I think Southgate is classed as North London.
My first wife lived with her parents in Tottenham; I knew (then) all around Seven Sisters, Stoke Newington and Stamford Hill.
We used to go to the pubs round Tottenham, especially those close to the football ground, great atmosphere too. I must be honest I wouldn't walk around there at night.

my main memory of tottenham was the traffic around what was gestetner before the m25 was built, i don't know if things have improved. nose to tail whatever time you drove along there, i believe tottenham were the first club to make their midweek kick off time 8 00 pm to allow for supporters to get there.

Greenwich used to belong to Kent: our Green Village.

I didn't know that Alexander, how long ago was that ? I would have thought that Greenwich is too far north.

Greenwich, Blackheath , Bexley were all part of Kent until a local gov. re-organisation. Kent Cricket still play at Beckenham. They have played at Blackheath in last 20 years.

Thanks Paul - I knew Bexley was/is part of Kent, but not the other two.

county cricket tends to move where the spectators will turn up, many counties play outside their county to gain revenue.

Not to forget Sidcup, the Gateway to Kent, Paul W.
Similarly, Croydon was a part of Surrey. Some of Essex also got taken.
Greenwich means Green village, as Sandwich means Sand village. Olde Kentish.
We must hold on to our fair County, lest more of it is eaten up.
