With reference to post 65, arrangements had been made for the flag to be flown. Unfortunately the person was taken ill, it was collected and not to distract the service was flown when it finished (about 10.30 a.m.). Anyone who was there ( as I was will will know and this includes the organisers). Please do not let this detract from what people were there for.

In other words the organiser knew all this but still run to the press to stir the pot!!

Why do people run to the press??I have read another report in the Dover Express local Councillor turned up in a dressing gown at the close of the event.
These comments do nothing to enhance Dover.
Dover Express takes an age to read their press releases as adverts take over ,

the organizer was a bit quick releasing who was turning up,in my mind a late post about half an hour before the start, but just announce the date, time and venue.
the organizer was bleating about it for a while.as for the flag being raised a deputy needs to be appointed just in case.

Sue, try using Adblock it stops all those irritating adverts. I downloaded it a few months ago and have had no problems with it, an added advantage is that is free..

I read that report about the Councillor in the Dover Express and thought it was completely unnecessary and could be construed as an invasion of his privacy.

Getting back to post 66 from Brian how would anyone know who was running a stall other than the organiser?
On the subject of Graham Wanstall I was one of many that laughed at the photograph initially. When the explanation for his attire came out there were still people slating him which seems unbelievably cruel under the circumstances.

From one rag to another and possibly instigated by someone who thinks she is perfect.

Certainly wasn't the Dover Express as they are linked in with the Daily Mail, it has all the hallmarks of the dreaded Pearson woman and her bile. She was aware of the heart condition of Cllr Wanstall but still went ahead with her agenda.
