ahhh but Keith, the next largest party got only 35%, with 65% voting against them and the other were substantially worse.
Incidentally - knock out the minor parties and individuals who were not competing to form a UK government by standing all over the country then you will have a totally different picture. Bear in mind as well, a lot of the people who vote for these minor parties do not expect to be voting for a 'winner' or to elect the government but do so as a protest or just to abvoid making a serious decision - the LibDems used to get a lot of those.
