Tom, you've obviously not had as many hot dinners as Alex - that probably means your're not entitled to an opinion

Haven't got a clue what you are referring to, Tony.
I only asked Tom a few questions about how North Camp Army area was when he was there, because it has changed a lot recently.

Tom stated that he thought his opinion was still valid after two stints in North Camp?
I have the utmost respect for his opinion so don't even bother replying to me please.

Alexandra left in 1988 but have since driven through the area carrying mail. The married quarters at Ramillies park have halved in size as the light water valley relief road runs through the edge of it. As regards the barracks they were undergoing a major rebuild as i left. One amusing anecdote was that when they went demolish a perimeter wall of the QMs compound the wall was listed as it used to be the garrison glasshouse. It fell down one weekend when a 10 tonner from the RCT crashed into it. Nothing to do with us guv.

I used to live in Ramillies Park. Before that in Cameron Road. Both houses have gone now, in the late 80's probably. Sometimes my dad took me to the sergeants' mess to sip lemonade.

My brother attended Sandhurst and won both the sword and cup for 'best' Junior Officer (whatever that means) He did 3 tours of NI 1968 69 and 71. However this does not qualify me as an expert on all matters militarily. So supping lemonade in Sgts Mess does not make thee a font of all knowledge.
Should stress my brother kicked the bucket aged 42yrs so unable to consult him for his views on Libya.
