Not so, Brian.
If a representation made during a public consultation is accepted as relevant by a Government authority (local or central), namely the authority which initiated the public consultation, then it also becomes public domain.
The fact that it is considered relevant by officers working in a Department or a Council means it has a legal basis within laws, rules and regulations.
In the case of the DDC core strategy, which is related to post 1 and the topic of this thread, namely development and housing strategy, my representation stands a chance of achieving its aim, which is a review of the DDC core strategy on the grounds that the building of over 10,000 homes in and around Dover would endanger the environment owing to significant increase in pollution from traffic.
My rep. also takes into account the existing port traffic and the plans for a new T2 with projected increase in port traffic in the future.
If it was a con, DDC would not have accepted the representation, nor anyone else's representation in any public consultation for that matter.
By being in denial of all this, Brian, people only exclude themselves from participation in public matters that concern the Community, and discourage others from taking part in our common future.
