I got off my arse as you so eloquently put it and run the Dover Loyalty Scheme for two years; I had to pack it in as it was costing me too much money - I did not take any money from it.

I then worked on the Discover Dover leaflets for two/three years and had to stop doing that as the two major sponsors dropped out because their local marketing budget had been cut.

I was then the Business Support Manager for Dover Chamber of Commerrce (not as a volunteer I grant you) until I was unceremoniously and acrmoniously sacked with no reason given.

I then worked for the Channel Chamber as their Business Support Manager finding work-placements for young people and only stopped doing that, because Government funding ceased.

Those "copious pages of theoretical, pompous evaluations" as you call them (theTourism Strategy, the Plan of Action for Dover Town and how to run a successful street-market - something the Town Team have so far failed (miserably) to do), were very well received by Kent Tourism, DHB and the businesses and organisations mentioned in them and all gave good and worthwhile feedback.
The only people who ignored them, were the Town Council, the Town Team and WCCTA. I wonder why ? Well, I don't really wonder, as I have been told why.

When the Town Team was first initiated, I attended the first three meetings and was then told not to attend any more as I was a District Councillor and I didn't have a Town business, so I didn't - and haven't attended one since, apart from, I was invited to attend a meeting in Simon's office in Castle Street to talk about running a street market, but was put down by most of those present and I then received an email from David Little putting me down even futher and was included in Simon's insulting reply.

There was of course another District Councillor who continued to attend and she didn't have a town business - until fairly recently.

So don't tell me to get of my arse.

    Roger
