lol!! yes good one there.
But re the new Labour leader. It really has to be one of the younger ones. I did previously suggest Alan Johnson myself but what became even more obvious to me during the recent TV debates was how big a factor the age factor is now. Its all very visual nowadays, very televisual, and if you dont cut it there you will have great difficulty getting your message across. Gordon Brown looked too old in comparison to the two younger, more vigourous, more energetic men, in the debates. Likewise i thought Vincent Cable who was previously the political darling of the British public also struggled to impress in the other debates, although he continues to impress in the cosy chat department.
So therefore for me it must be David Milliband, a new fresh face and with some charisma too. He will wipe out what is now seen as the old guard...do you remember thats what they used to call the ould geezers in the kremlin! But whatever happens...Hopefully not no way nilch zilch nein niet forget it Ed Balls. he has no charisma whatsoever but is planning to stand. Labour will be banished to the outer hebrides of political life if he takes over.

Good posting PaulB, shame though that the selection of a political leader should come down to age and how good they look on TV.

Looking at what has happened over the last few days and hours it now seems that a new face is on the cards, it obviously does mean that people do now want to see younger person of the likes of David Milliband as a leader having watched him on a number of occasions he seems to be very much in the running.

sadly you are right jan, i prefer a bit of substance which i do not see from the milliband brothers.
apperently one is on the left and the other is a blairite.
sounds to me like a new version of cain and abel, will be interesting to see them stabbing each other en route to power.
my preference would have been alan johnson who has said that he was not up to the top job.
surely that says that he has the necessary humility along with his undoubted ability to go all the way?

Perhaps Simon Cowell can organise the election of the new Labour leader, Debate Factor, it can be shown weekly on ITV and the winner announced a month before the next election.
How strange that New Labour legacy, if there ever was one, should end in total dissaray. One can only assume the lefties have been waiting for their moment to march the party into oblivion, aka, returning to core values?

Or, to put it another way, 'between the devil and the deep blue sea'.
True friends stab you in the front.

3 terms of office always leaves a government in disarray, regardless of colour.
the blues only got an extra term by getting shot of the leader and installing someone untainted.
Labour is lucky to have so many good candidates for leader .The same cannot be said of our new coalition goverment .

Mark - The Labour mob, more like Fred Carnos Army. A real farce with Mr Banana among them.
I wonder how long it takes for sour grapes to digest?
