On the next 'bump', you could remind us all what they are performing Howard...just a thought.

More free than the verse...
"I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses, and with eglantine;
There sleeps Titania sometime of the night,
Lull'd in these flowers with dances and delight;
And there the snake throws her enamell'd skin,
Weed wide enough to wrap a fairy in..."

first to arrive at the town hall was our new mayor councillor anne smith.
anne and her husband mick allowed me to take a couple of pics.
wish them well over the coming year.
straight after came the first citizen of the district council chairman and forum member susan nicholas.

a lot of very good interaction between the players, clearly they have been working very hard on this leading up to today.

just for tom's benefit here is the evidence that shakespeare does in fact exist and also penned the play seen earlier.

He, if indeed 'he' it was, must have been something of a risk taker. Writing a play for the jubilee of a monarch that was yet to be, and one that carries the same name as his own dear queen.
ER1 being the original "we are not amused" type.
I hope the venue was packed out with locals having a whale of a time.

it was packed out tom and the general mood was one of jollity.
hope that your local celebrations were as good.
turned out that the event could have been held outdoors around town as originally planned but the organisers had to make a decision early this morning when it was precipitating down.

...if only it (and many other events) could be transmitted to the big-screen?

Good pictures there Howard all round. I think that is probably the first pic of the new Mayor out and about performing her duties and always good to see Sue in full flight. Glad it was packed. The weather has been abysmal..Ive never known it this cold in June. Grimmmm it is.
