Just to remind everyone that the show a Celebration of the Sea is on today at the Town Hall at 3pm.Tickets will be on sale from 11.00 at the Townhall.
The show brings some of the best young(in most cases) talent in the area,it is a variety show with singing dancing and music and will finish around 6pm.3 hours of entertainment for £5.Plus every ticket sold gives £2.50 to the RNLI and £2.50 to Dover Regatta.
We have young singers, young Irish Dancers,Young musicians one is only 6 and playing her first ever show,2 cadet bands and Louise Orfila and Keiran Gaffney the drummer from Britain's got talent. You may also recognise some forumites in the Sycro Dance Team.
There will be a few tables with the RNLI selling their wares along with the WHPS and Mascarada Fancy Dress shop.
So instead of sitting in watching the reruns of Eastenders and other programmes turn off your heating and come and support not only the RNLI and Dover Regatta but the young and talented artists we have in this town.
Thanks!
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

I did get excited about this event and turned out a window in its honour, which has now been half taken apart and transported to the Town Hall!!
An exclusive to Kent dress - Ariel from Alfred Angelo!
Good luck to all involved and a huge thank you to JHG. I cannot attend - although I had hoped to - but best of luck to everyone. It sounds really fab.

Yes, the best of luck to all involved. I would have liked to go today too but I'm just about recovering from a very bad spell of flu, been a couple of weeks now and I even had the flu jab so there you have it, absolutely floored me
Hope you all have a very happy day, I'm sure it will be a great success

far too many empty seats, lets hope word gets around that people missed out and will buy tickets next time.
the council chair susan nicholas together with legendary councillor of ddc and kcc nigel collor.
when i caught up with them they were gazing longingly into each others eyes, looks like it is back on again.
caught the ever popular "mayor ronnie" as she is known locally and her other half in an offguard moment.

Thanks everyone I have the easy part just picking the acts, what happens back stage and the organisation before hand is what makes it work. I have mentioned it before Andrew Martyn who I have known since he was a baby, and the sound and Light people make these youngsters sing play and dance in a near professional arena. They have the talent I just get them there.
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves the only down side was the empty seats. At the end I mentioned this morning when we were on our way down,I said to Gill Gough why do we do these things. But when you watch these talented youngsters that is why we do it.They were brilliant every act and so professional.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

once the lights went down and the show started it was impossible for anyone other than a professional to get decent shots.
in this case not such a bad thing, i can indentify some here - chris precious, stewart dimmock and bob(hot dog) royston, all town councillors.
andy cooper from the dover regatta committee and all round entertainer gordon skeggs.
gordon together with steve ladner gave their services to jointly compere the show.
doea anyone recognise these two?

the talent was exceptional john, great singing, dancing and music making.
no-one can say that dover does not have talent.
the a.t.c. were out of this world.

as an aside chris and stewart tricked me into buying them a pint each in the albert.
the upshot is that i went into a central dover pub and openly bought drinks for two drag queens.
any credibility i had left here has now gone down the drain.

Are there photos to mark the event Howard If there are not then I think I should lodge a complaint about editorial bias
