- 26 October 2013 19:29250100I just hope if it does hit us we don't get too much rain with it. I can imagine the trees shedding all their leaves at once, blocking the drains and flooding the valleys. Usually bad by River Coop and Hollis Motors if it does flood. Quite windy down the chimney tonight.

At the same time, persistent, heavy rain could cause some surface water flooding, while the winds will lead to some very large waves around our coasts.
There remains slight uncertainty in the timing, intensity and track of the low as well as the northern limit of the strongest winds. However, the public should be prepared for the risk of falling trees as well as damage to buildings and other structures, bringing disruption to transport and power supplies. The public should also consider adjusting travel plans.
This warning has been updated to bring forward the end time.

I've had a quick look out and the only obvious damage is a window-pane blown out from my green-house, but I expect more now will be blown out/broken.
Hope it subsides soon.

Stay safe, and spare a thought for those at sea. According to Marine Traffic there is a German submarine (U31) on the surface heading down the Channel. They must be having quite a ride onboard!

28 October 2013 08:34250371I did not think the wind was any worse than our usual gales at least no pots got broken unlike the other week and I can see no damage but yet to venture to the top of the garden, we must have just missed the worst of it.
Looking out of the window as I type this the sun is shining and the sky is blue, long may it last.-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.
