17:0274368What a nice shop. Ideal stuff for those who can never think of what to get business associates and family members for Christmas.
Well done Tony, now about that shade of blue...........................
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

02:2074395Nice to see you again Tony, good luck with it all mate, I`m sure you`re on a winner there. Nice to see Barry Williams again, and meet his good lady Paula, and also Chris Precious and family, Stewart Dimmock, and of course Jeanette. A 10 minute walk down the road to Blakes, and nice to meet some other forumite`s, plus a few other well known faces, and culminating in a visit to The White Horse, followed by a walk home to deepest, darkest Whitfield. A very pleasant and memorable day for me, thank you all.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

07:1874464Yes indeed John I wus the ould Irish Geezer..I popped up on my motorcycle in the glorious sunshine to see what was what in Mr Jayms's emporium. I brought my trusty camera too and got a few shots of the man himself before anyone else got there...all while appreciating a glass of his mild mannered Merlot.
These pictures plus a little feature are now as of this minute on the frontpage. Rather amazing to feature two shops opening in Dover in just a few short days.
Good luck to them.
Yes was good to meet up with yourself again John and your walking companion Alison...oh to be that fit, I let my motorbike do the walking. Good to meet Guzzler and Humphy too. Guzzler and myself always have these interesting debates on a whole variety of topics. And as he did a tour or two in N Ireland, thats a topic that often crops up...

Wish you all well with your venture.
John
Good to see you doing all the walking and perhaps getting Paul B to move from two wheels to two feet !!!.
You may recall we first met when you organised the Cinque Ports Charity Walk. First year Sandwich to Hastings the second year Hastings to Sandwich, a great deal of money raised for worthwhile causes.Would be fantastic to see this organised again so that so many local charities benefit.
Although doing my regular NT Walks I am "limbering up" for my trek in a few weeks time to Nepal (Annapurna Region) and regularly do Dover to Folkestone as well as Dover to Deal (making sure to deviate in St Margaret's Bay to include the steps). Also just done some walks in the North Yorkshire Moors.
Anyway my trip to Nepal is not a sponsored do but one I arranged as a "tourist" .I have wanted to do "Nepal" for many years and goes back to as a schoolboy Everest being conquered and more importantly putting something directly into the Nepalise (Ghurka) economy.
Am doing 6 days trekking with max altitude about 9,000ft and total distance of some 35/40 miles (day 1 only 4½ miles but climb of just over 3,000 ft).And as you go up you also have to come down.
Didn't think of any sponsorship activites. However one or two knowing I am doing this said should raise some sponsorship. So if anyone interested I would suggest they put something to our Mayors Charity Fund" direct to the Dover Town Council Office quoting "Nepal Trek".

20:0674565Perhaps I will work on that Pat,Sandwich to Hastings over 3 days, will have to wait until next May,as elections get in the way,but I will talk to a few friends of mine to try and set the wheels in motion. Or should I say feet in motion.

It's a pity Posh Barry forgot to drop off my caviar and champagne on his way to the cruise terminal this morning.

Roger, yes I saw your email thanks very much for the hard work (as normal) you put into it.

11:0375562Yes the shop is definitely well worth a visit, also as Tony says not all the items are up on the website yet. Without Tony and other ongoing advertising support we would not be able to bring this forum for all to use for free. So a BIG Thank You to All our advertisers
