    The government, unlike Labour's, is not one made up of a bunch of closet republicans who removed HMQ's picture from government offices (now restored in place...)

    All that is being done is to change the timing of the State opening of Parliament to the spring, instead of it being in the Autumn and that means this will be a longer session of parliament. This is quite sensible, anyway given the heavy legislative burden laid out in the last Queens Speech it needs time to be enacted.

    The next opening of Parliament will therefore be the spring of 2012 instead of the autumn of 2011, 6 months later.
