Vic, please consider your health. Sometimes we can be more effective working outside the system i.e. less restraints.

Tell me Vic, what was the purpose of your post #1?

Yes I can help you over that one we still are some way off the next elections but when you stand like I do on my own, I have not the funding or back up that a party can give so I need to keep in the public eye and keep puting out what I am trying to do etc. I also do it to try and get more of the public interested in standing for council themselfs I get on councils because there is a need for more public standing for a ward or parish council and what I do is show this up .Do not get me wrong once on any council there are four at this very time,I do help and work with them. But it is wrong that a person like myself can just walk onto a council without even geting voted on.So if you would like to see a end of what I do then please stand yourselfs it is as easy as that and I would welcome that way forward,In some parts of the world public die just trying give their vote but here they will not even turn the TV off to go and vote or stand for council. That is why I do it and will keep doing it sir.I hope that this a help to yourself and others to understand me better and might just see me in a better light then before.Than k you for asking.

Desperate self promotion and possibly the refusal to realise there is a time to give up active political life and grow old gracefully.

Self glorification don't worry he will change his mind at least 10 times between now and next week.Vote for me I am important don't vote for a Party because none of them would have me.Which Party would like Vic to join? By the time they processed his membership he would have either been kicked out or resigned.

I have never said I play a important roll because I do not and never have,Any one can do what I have done in the pass and doing now and only wish more of the public would have ago and get on councils .If you are going to talk about me ok but get it right just some of the time.I would love to see the councils I sit on get more local candidates for their own council and push me out,I have said to them if I can be replace by a local person then I would go,If that happen I could save up and spend more time in spain with my wife.

So vote for me and if someone better comes along I will resign, why do you waste your time Vic the only Councils you are on is when there wasn't a vote, the Councils you aren't on is because there was a vote and you came last take Lesley and go to Spain, put your feet up.If you want to stand then try my ward Tower Hamlets as I am not standing next time but as the 3 Labour Cllrs there seem to be popular you might need to stand for Labour,oh I forgot you were a member once and a Tory then Independent and Dover Alliance and UKIP then independent, perhaps you should use this as your slogan.
Vote for me I will resign I have stood for all parties but no one wants me so I am on my own until I resign then you can vote someone else in.

I have nothing to say about the above post it is rude so I will not go down the same rd, And this by a person who claimed at one time to be my friend, well that was never true and never will be just a person that came into mylife at some point and then out again. I hope that does not sound rude if it does then I am sorry.

Having never met Vic I can only go by the impression I get from the egotistic postings that he sometimes puts on the forums but this thread just about sums up why some of the public want little to do with politics.

I am sure Vic will do whatever he feels the need to do. I respect that he is entitled to a viewpoint which may differ from my own. I don't like is personal attacks and feel that no response can be as effective as an argument , after all what has ever been achieved by shouting into an empty room?

Lesley
I partly share your view, and you can see the desperation in the original posters heading and posts since.
John makes some valid points on how the electorate has chosen in the past, also if the original poster felt he wanted more people to stand then he doesn't need to stand himself, he just needs to encourage others to do so.
Past results have shown the original poster doesn't do well in elections where the election is contested.
