Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
A gift designed with my Old Man in mind.......I am on the website as we speak.
Having gawped at the wedding of Princess Margaret and Tony Armstrong-Jones, which I believe was the first to be televised live, and continuing to be young and fairly romantic, I watched the wedding of Charles and Di with a fair amount of interest. Andrew and Fergie interested me much less and quite frankly I cannot work up one iota of interest in Wills and Kate. I am not anti-royalist and I wish them well as I would any young couple setting out on married life, but honestly, where is all this frenzy coming from? I truly do not know personally anyone who is particularly interested.
I also resent the implication - free red white a blue crap from newspapers etc - that we are all agog and sweaty with anticipation. These are not "any other young couple" - they are a couple agreeing to legally sleep with each other to maintain the status quo (sorry - painful reference I know) and promote an unequal society which patronises and contains the masses in "their place". Respect for them as people, but I cannot collude with this fantasy!!

My only interest is curiosity over the dress, it's a female thing I guess. I like the pomp which is good for tourism but have no real interest in the wedding and am fed up with it being shoved in my face at every possible moment.

My daughter studied in the same uni department as William at St Andrews, even helped in her 2nd year to organise the annual fashion show where Kate wore that infamous dress a few years later.
But it was five years too early for us to be in with a chance of being royal in-laws and on the front row next Friday, I have to make do with playing my banjo at the Temple Ewell street party instead

Our road is now closed and there are red, white and blue balloons and bunting a plenty in readiness for the street party

I have put my bunting up at the windows with flags adorning the lovely Prince William and Kate
Sue, I'm sure you're enjoying the many hats on display this morning as the guests enter Westminster Abbey

. Must go and glue myself back on the sofa

There were a lot of foreigners in Dover yesterday I wonder if they were on their way up to London or was it just a coincidence.
Looking out of my window there has been a distinct lack of traffic and pedestrians, just a few children walking past. Everyone must be glued to the TV.
