Thanks Tom. Mars Attacks bubble gum cards from 1962?

The only other options I can think of around that period were A For Andromeda and the Quatermass serials. I don't think any of those caused a public reaction to that which Vic describes. Hmmm....

The Mercury Theatre also did a radio production of Dracula but for some reason it did not have the same effect. Am I a sad git for having both broadcasts on cd?
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

Any one remember Flash Gordon and the Clay men.? They appeared from out of the wall and did what they were supposed to do and then disappeared back into the wall. They scared me to death when I was a kid, but then that was a very very long time ago.

I used to enjoy a sci-fi programme called The Outer Limits in the '60s.

I have just caught up with this thread it makes an Interesting read. Vic ,stop being so sensitive Phil isn't calling you a liar just confused over what programme scared you as a child. For my generation it was the Daleks but as I became a man I put to one side my childish toys as the poem goes but it is worrying that these people do have the vote and could hold the future of our country in their hands.
Chrisrecordings of Wells broadcast...wow excellent a man after my own heart.

Marek, should you be at a loss for something to worry about. How about thinking of all those highly educated, not to say well born, people that have brought us to our present sorry state?
If you had a sat-nav that took you awry time after time would you not chuck it in and go back to the atlas?
Who has been in charge of education and much, if not all, else for the last age?
It is one thing for an ill educated person not to know any better, but where does that leave those who thought and still think that house prices can go up and up and only up till the end of time?

Marek, it's alright for you sitting in Jersey and taking pop-shots at Vic.
The maps have been updated here, and show now which localities are Vic controlled territory, and where an unseemly alliance of forces are trying desperately to hold the Town wards.
Yes, this is a reality!
There is a flow of refugees coming in from the countryside, and I'm not speaking of darliks here!

"Taking pop shots at Vic" well they are obviously hitting the target. Alex your continous unfounded rants against 'refugees' does you no credit. You refer to these poor folk as if they are 'plague carriers' contaminating everything they touch.
Vic is a politician, albeit a local and not a very good one, therefore he becomes fair game for critisism and ridicule. Have you never watched HIGNFY ?

Marek, I was referring to the refugees from the parishes, within the context of the science-fiction in post 1.
Alright, Dover Town is not under siege from Vic and his forces, but there is something going on out there, Vic is advancing unopposed.
At this rate, come May, the town Wards may even fall to Vic.
Now let me make a prediction: turnout 2-16%, Vic meanwhile discovers a coal-mine and promises jobs.
If it wasn't for Vic's stunning advance through the Counbtry-side, this could have been a science-fiction thread.

vic is only standing in one town ward hardly likely to be the final solution for ukip, also the turnout is likely to be around the 40% mark as per usual.
