    Gordon,

The following information courtesy of the Channel Dash Association might be of interest in answering your enquiry:

With regard to future commemorations, it is the intention to hold annual ceremonies, similar to that in February of this year, these will be on the 12th of February at Ramsgate in the morning and Dover in the afternoon, for the foreseeable future. That said, the members of the Channel Dash Memorial Trust reduce as the years pass and the holding of an annual ceremony currently requires elements of organisation that currently falls to the Trust. We are currently exploring how the annual events at Ramsgate and Dover can continue by sharing this responsibility with others. This will be a hot topic of discussion at our AGM in June. The more people we can get involved for the future, the more secure the future of the commemorations will be.

Malcolm Godfrey, Secretary of the Channel Dash Association added:
“Anything that raises the profile of the Channel Dash and the memorials, is greatly appreciated.”
