Another reminder that the Four District Councils in East Kent.Dover Canterbury Shepway Thanet only needs ONE CHIEF EXECUTIVE on a reasonable salary.
Many more millions of pounds can be saved by reducing the unnesseccary`` very expensive`` FOUR MANAGEMENT teams of our four District Councils.
A message a member of the Public attempted to advise our Council of on the 27th July 2011!!

Sorry Reg, it isn't exactly a new comment you want to make, I hear it loads of times and DDC probably the same !!
Dover, Thanet, Shepway and Canterbury all have different issues, priorities and conflict of interests. I am sure people in Thanet for example wouldn't be interested in promoting Lydd Airport and would want their elected people to be fighting to get Manston up and running rather than somewhere 40 miles down the road ??
Been nice knowing you :)

moving back to the original link we are seeing services cut while the fat cats at the top of town halls feather their own nest.
what an example to set to their staff.
Fat cats feathering their nests? I predict scrambled eggs..........

Paul, even in Dover District there can be conflicts of priorities between Dover and Deal or maybe with the Rural and Sandwich.
Back to the original...
Scroungers is not the right expression, they are doing a job for which they are being remunerated and that is not scrounging, overpaid might be a better expression to use instead.
I do not like the expression fat cats either, much overused and abused.
Agreed - the over use of emotive terms simply reduces the discussion to the level of name calling and gives people permission not to think.

I am deeply offended on behalf of all the fat cats and scroungers in public service.

difficult to know what else to call them, they take services away from less well off to pocket themselves extra, in many cases surreptitiously.
as for over a 100 of them earning more than the prime minister!!
The test is VFM. And if the salaries were reduced the money would in all probability not be filtered back into services.
Peter - you tease!!

The talks between Dover and Shepway did not break down Keith, I thought you knew that.
The cost was very minimal.
