- 2 February 2011 22:3691233Firstly I was not with Vic distributing leaflets, but distributed them on my own for Vic in Dover.
Secondly, I sent various emails to the chairman of UKIP Dover and Deal, dated 15 November 2010, about the Pledge, meaning the very next day after I first was informed by Mr Nuttall UKIP MEP and the Pledge office, which was 14 November).
One email included a copy of the original I received from Mr. Nuttall MEP, with his very own signature underneath and the heading, in big letters: The Pledge.
Here is one copy that I sent dated 15 November, which I just fished out of my sent box. In the sent box, the links are live, meaning that they were live links when they reached Vic. Here on the thread they do not appear live. Hence, all that was needed was for the destinatary of the copied links to open them with an instant click, nothing easier!

It so happens that official UKIP proclaims at least some of the issues that are present in the proposed localism bill.
And Gov's freezing of the Trident nuclear submarine development and of increased warplane production, and the scrapping of Nimrod, are very important points that I believe in whole-heartedly.
Under no circumstance would I go around now campaigning against the Tories and risking that they lose a majority in favour of New Labour, which I consider to have abandoned original Labour ideals concerning working rights.
As for UKIP, I never managed to make headwas with my many proposals on local or national issues, so I did not abandon UKIP. One recent email from UKIP to local chairmen, of which I received a copy from Vic, stated that local UKIP chairmen may present proposals in policy making to the head-office.
So let the chairman do that then! But I did offer to help in UKIP!
I believe that a local chairman should be elected by the party members of the area, after presenting a set of proposals, and that other members should also be allowed to be candidates as chairman, after presenting their candidacy and proposals, for ALL other members to be informed, so that each member knows what each candidate has to offer. Nigel Fargae was elected as national leader of UKIP after each member of UKIP received a letter with the names of the candidates.
I also receivd one, and voted for Nigel. This is democratic
I never received any invitation to vote for a local UKIP chairman in Dover and Deal though. I doubt many have!

That was why I was enthusiastic about the Pledge: it called for a referendum, which is democracy, and UKIP is striving for this. So if I tried to dedicate myself to that in mid November, having been requested to do so, but got no response from the local chairman. But then I always have stated on the Forum, in regards to this, that I imagined UKIP could be an ally of the Tories, which would mean constructive debate.
To go around irresponsibly now could jeopardise our Country's stability, confusing people at the ballot box, and results at local elections could have consequences on cooperation between Councils and the Government. However, a plan to flood the ballot box papers with a host of paper candidates in Dover could not pull off. It would have meant that confused voters would be putting crosses for people who had no intention of being elected, but just aiming for a 10% or so of votes.
The result would have been that any close race between Tory and Labour candidates would have been unfairly decided in favour of the latter. UKIP head-office has nothing to do with this.
Such conduct could potentially have trurned our Council administrations upside down, and it wouldn't be fair on the people who voted either. However I don't think there were any people prepared to stand as paper candidates.
