  Eds post was great! Summed it up so well. One of the contributing factors to the arrogance of the medical ranks in that they consider only their immediate needs and believe themselves more important than their patients is the culture that was allowed to develop around doctors, the view that they were somehow "special" and "better" than the rest. So not true! But that culture has allowed them to get away with murder (sometimes literally). That also needs to be addressed. And yes, Jan, in private practice they would simply not work.
