these 2 should benefit from the clean up.
was talking to ted earlier and he has been following events closely - the upshot being that a lot of oil is mixed in with the general silt which explains why the muck collected has to go a great distance to a landfill that can take it.

a lot of work completed with attractive signs advising that the new paths are for cyclists and pedestrians but no markings to show what part is for what.
work seems to have come to a complete halt here.

not much seems to being achieved on the section from the riverside centre through past the college, supposed to be open this month.

railings in place to stop the fish jumping out on unsuspecting cyclists.

I just wish all the cyclists would use these paths, one going towards Ladywell went belting past me outside the Charlton Centre yesterday.

all the main work seems to be complete now with just some tidying up and turfing to be done.

the college seems prepared for re-turfing.
this gives an idea how much plant and machinery has been used thus far.

the cycleway seems to be a collection of small ones that end then start again.

I am surprised there is not a pretty red cycle path going right past the fountain or is that dubious pleasure to come.
The impression given by Howard's photo is that the cyclist now has priority rather than pedestrians through the underpass, why on earth wasn't the cycle lane designated one side rather than straight down the middle.

this is a driver's view leaving stembrook car park.
straight across an oncoming cyclist.
what chance do drivers have of avoiding a fast moving cyclist when they move off from here?

the thing that stands out in the the free for all sections of the route is the love of railings.
here in stembrook they have been installed to protect innocent cyclists and pedestrians from the residents.

in the event of a cyclist going slowly enough to read the sign how would they know what speed they were doing?
