to put the spanner in the works, this country has been mismanaged for the last 41 years,by all partys who ever was in power.
barryw says that the last labour goverment is to blame, but not forgetting that we had 18 years of tory mismanagment previsly.

"Call me Dave" has been PM for 1 year 3 months now; it's about time he stopped hiding behind Labour to blame everything on and learned the difference between a u-turn and a straight forward gallop!

you are speaking for the majority of the public here, most are fed up with the inaction of the new adminstration who would blame the cold summer on gordon brown if they could.

In fact I'm wondering how long it will be before the coming increase in heating prices will be laid square on Gordon's shoulders.
Was reading an article today on Sky News about how Pakistan received money from the West, including Britain, for last year's floods.
Five million people there have been made homeless again, just now, owing to more floods, and so many readers were commenting on how long it would take for "call me Dave" to send a blank check to Pakistan, while at the same time not saying a word about that country's military innovation programmes (3 new subs from China, a new fleet of F16s, more missile projects, the nuclear bomb and a few others...
I doubt spineless Dave will venture that far, but the fact is, people are crying out for more to be done for our own Country.
As I perceive it, many are reaching their tether's end.
We all had a go at bashing Labour's 13 year performance - well many of us - but that sheen has worn off now, and if the Tories don't think something up before the next wave of price increases hits us, and people start shivering again (especially elder people) in their homes, while some chief execs (who have just increased their company's profits) cash in the next bout of bunuses, then I'm afraid spineless Dave will be somewhat unpopualr!

Tony Haywood, discredited BP chief who is likely to cost the company tens of billions of dollars in compensation claims after the Gulf of Mexico disaster, is about to earn £14,000,000 as he helps bring about a new oil venture with other characters of dubious integrity.
Top 1% earners lobby to axe 50p tax rate on earnings over £150,000.

Tony Hayward isn't out of the slick yet - the company he is trying to set up, and which has multiple connections with various foreign companies, has some apparently questionable backers and management. His own performance with BP has left a few questions for some, and the entire management team is currently under scrutiny. Realistically, if someone operates at that level there are going to be some skeletons and some history. It isn't the history of the SMT, it is his less than sparkling management skills as CEO of BP that are being examined................
