Rather inevitable with government support for councils falling year on year but the result may not affect quality of services.

All this has been done before the K.C.C, will not take any notice of what the public or other councils say.

I have been to consultations with the K.C.C, before but none have gone the publics way in the end .They will still go the way they want to.The libraries should stay open and the one that goes round the parish,s do help the older ones.

KCC did listen to the responses on the consultation on the Comminity Wardens and the changes which would have seen numbers of wardens dramatically reduced is not going to happen. So I imprtant to take part in this consultation.

I had to smile seeingt discussions on social media about the subject of libraries. Someone read the KCC bit and decided that Deal library was about to close and people have been queuing up to be suitably outraged. There is even talk of an action group to save it!!

I think the campaign is for 'saving' services rather than against closure. Deal library offers a lot of other services which would presumably go if KCC despose their libraries to trusts. I think even DDC have an outpost there which might not be one of the services they want to save

If we had digital food, digital toilet paper and digital liberty we'd be laughing. Wouldn't we?

One of the few singers whose 'difficult' second album came out better than first (and anything afterwards)?
Probably told the tale before but saw him at Canterbury, and driving home afterwards on the A2 looked in rear view mirror and thought I was being followed by the man himself.
Turned out it was a Morrison's Van.

Dover library not on the list of those to open next week. I'd like to think it was because the staff said to the suits 'No browsing, no opening.' But I doubt it.

I love librarys BUT when the world and his dog have Wikipedia and/or Amazon do they still have a function?
Other than keeping the 'homeless' warm, during daylight hours?
(Certainly main function in Wolverhampton from recent experience).

From today Dover library's open for some library things, like browsing and borrowing books. (If you like your social spaces to resemble hospitals you'll be ok.)
