I see The Mercury this week are campaigning to get this silly fountain situation looked at. Page 8. Every time two or three people gather the council shut the lovely fountain down.. close it off ..etc etc. They didnt close it down when a few people gathered in the past. Ive trawled back (took a while!) to show the fountain playing its role as a community feature, by the community, for the community. Lets get back to this, the way it used to be...and use the fab fountain as God intended...
2006 and the kids are on the anti-prison rally above backing Gwyn Prosser and Paul Watkins and Reg Hansell too..I remember it well. The fountain looking glorious and wonderful...
2007 Another event and as you can see no boarding hoarding or whatever...and the crowds gather around it, maybe even getting inspiration from the flowing water..who knows, many a poet has been inspired by the sound of a babbling brook.
PS: We're a dotcom nowadays..
above in picture is me, to the left was the eleccy and we are the plumbers, the fountain due to some years of use is rather touchy shall we say the may control board had to have some wiring done,we have also had to replace some valves due to leaks on the pipework to the pump, above is a picture of us figuring out the maze of pipework and the best way to replace the valve without caursing more problems, still valves are now replaced and fingers crossed the fountain will be up and running tomorrow :
