I didn't appreciate the wealth of philosophical questions posed by a day at the fair. Time, what is its reality?

Talking about fair and fare. There is this news today...
"Farepak victims await directors ruling
Seven Farepak directors face being struck off as company bosses for up to 15 years, but victims stand to gain nothing more than a 'quiet satisfaction'."

It opens the same day as the circus starts at the polls Howard, similar, although I can't see the EU gravy train cutting prices!

It was fun down there this morning ,the police had put out a no parking zone outside the poundshop so the very big and long fair lorrys could turn into the park.
But some one had parked their car right where the lorrys had to turn.
So there was a long tail back of bus, cars and fair lorrys so what happen next was about 8 lads from the fair got round the car and bump it up the road and left it with the front wayout of the parking area in the middle of the road also the car front was damage in the move also one of the trucks took out the small wall in turning into the park.

Yet again the fair turns up and sucks thousands of pounds out of the pockets of Dover residents.

I wonder if the unfortunate owner of the car will be able to claim compensation? I suppose he could ask the nice chaps whilst they are repairing damage done to said wall

Hope they do well and take those thousands of pounds, they deserve it.As someone involved in the business i know all too well of the constant battles involved. Its no 9 to 5 job, being open sometimes from morning till late, then having to pull down, all heavy manual work.Mechanical breakdowns, trucks stuck in mud when the weather is bad, rising costs of public liability insurance and safety tests etc, etc.Believe me theres no mercy in this business. You can have a good earner at one place and then little else for the next 3 or 4 places.I,ve been there and done it and still do.Taking out a small wall when pulling on is a minor problem, just look at the size of the loads being driven.I wonder how many of you could manage? Please dont knock them,i promise you they deserve every penny they get.I wish them all the very best of luck.

The person who parked their car in the way deserves all they get.It shouldnt have been there, but you,ll always get one.It happens all the time. Some of the loads can be 80ft+ in length. You cant just pull up,park and wait for idiots like that. Some of the tractor units may have to drop off the first load and then back on the road for the second load.Could be another long trip, perhaps another couple of hours+.Double tripping is common and theres no time to be hanging around for badly parked cars.

I must admit to enjoying seeing the trailers manoeuvring there way in to pencester gardens, certainly needs a lot of concentration and no little skill.
