Vic said goodbye with firm intent.

As a politician spent,
With pressures of the Quorum.
“I’ll not come back this time,” he said,
“I’m tired, old and need my bed,”
He failed to post for quite a while,
Although giving up was not his style.
He ditched his laptop in a rage,
Having written his final page,
“The bloody thing could never spell,”
Poor old Vic began to wail.
Then his boxing instincts took over,
He ran from River into Dover,
Arriving at the old Town Hall,
Ready to take on, one and all.
Seeing the senior Council Elder,
Puffed out his chest said, “I am a welder,”
Also a boxer and Politician,
I have earned all my attrition.
“Indeed you have,” the Elder said,
“Your manifesto I have read,
It’s full of politician’s spiel,
You can’t be serious, it can’t be real.
“I suggest that you forget decorum,
Go rejoin the Dover Forum,”
Then he tripped over Kate Baty’s cat,
And wrote to the Forum, just like that!
